tape loops of varied length - Vol.01

Tape Loops of Varied Length Vol.01 is more than an album; it’s a learning process. I believe that the only way you can master a technique, it’s by doing it over and over again. For this to work, I decided to release an album every 135 days. Having a public deadline like this makes it hard for me to ignore my goals, and I can continue producing music consistently.
Every track on this album was produced with 4 walkmans playing loops of different lengths, mostly between 4 and 10 seconds. There was also a Tascam 4 track playing longer loops, from 10 to 120 seconds. And to add a little more depth to it, there are some songs where a Micro Granny was used for samples and a Korg Caos Pad for some effects.
Something new will come in 135 days.
Above you can see the album cover for Spotify and other online music sources and, below, you can see the design for Bandcamp.
Visually speaking, the concept here was heavily influenced by David Carson. After watching him speak at a conference in Barcelona in 2019, I got back home inspired to try some of the ideas and concepts that he talked so passionately about.
This is why I decided to break up with readability rules and explore a less orthodox way of presenting text. I feel like this was also a reflection of the sounds in this album since they were composed in unusual ways as well.
Below you can see some of the cassette tape covers I designed as well.
